The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 is set to start on June 1st in the USA and the West Indies. The schedule has been announced by the ICC. The Indian team will play their opening game on June 5, 2024, against Ireland in New York, USA. Team India is one of the favorites to win this trophy, and it will be their second win after 2007 when they won the inaugural edition of the Men’s T20 World Cup.

ICC Announced: All teams are allowed to make changes to their squad until 25 May, after which any alteration will require approval from ICC’s Event Technical Committee.
Rohit Sharma will spearhead the charge for victory in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 as announced by the BCCI. Before the squad reveal, there was much talk about who would be the wicketkeeper, with several players hoping for the spot. In the end, Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson were chosen. Pant’s comeback to international cricket is significant because he was sidelined for over a year after a serious accident in December 2022.
Shivan Dube’s good form in the IPL made it hard to leave him out after he played in the recent T20I series against Afghanistan. He’s been playing really well for the Chennai Super Kings, scoring 350 runs in nine matches with a great strike rate.
India picked more spinners like Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Yuzvendra Chahal for their bowling lineup. Jasprit Bumrah will lead the fast bowlers, supported by Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj, and vice-captain Hardik Pandya.
No surprises in the batsmen selection, with Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, and Suryakumar Yadav expected to bat at the top with captain Rohit.
Shubman Gill and Rinku Singh are among the reserves, along with fast bowlers Khaleel Ahmed and Avesh Khan.
India is in Group A of the tournament with Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, and the USA. They start playing on June 5 against Ireland at the new Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. Then, they’ll face Pakistan in a highly anticipated match in the T20 World Cup.
