ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 Commentators List

ICC announced the commentators’ panel for the Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, and some big star names are included to provide their expertise during the matches.

The ICC will never disappoint you when it comes to infotainment in the form of commentary, whether in the shorter format or ODI. In this Men’s T20 World Cup, living legends and cricket stars will share their experiences and provide ball-by-ball commentary from the nine venues across the USA and West Indies.

Cricket gems like Ravi Shastri, Nasser Hussain, Ian Smith, Mel Jones, Harsha Bhogle, and Ian Bishop will lead the commentary panel.

Former Men’s and Women’s T20 World Cup champions such as Dinesh Karthik, Ebony Rainford-Brent, Samuel Badree, Carlos Brathwaite, Steve Smith, Aaron Finch, and Lisa Sthalekar will join the team to share their modern cricket experiences.

Former ODI World champions Ricky Ponting, Sunil Gavaskar, Matthew Hayden, Ramiz Raja, Eoin Morgan, Tom Moody, and Wasim Akram will also be there to give their professional analysis.

James O’Brien, also known as Jomboy, will make his World Cup debut and will add analysis to the game for the American audience.

The other big names in the panel are Dale Steyn, Graeme Smith, Michael Atherton, Waqar Younis, Simon Doull, Shaun Pollock and Katey Martin alongside renowned cricketing names in broadcasting including Mpumelelo Mbangwa, Natalie Germanos, Danny Morrison, Alison Mitchell, Alan Wilkins, Brian Murgatroyd, Mike Haysman, Ian Ward, Athar Ali Khan, Russel Arnold, Niall O’Brien, Kass Naidoo and former West Indies skipper Daren Ganga.

What the commentators said:

Aaron Finch said that the event is special and promises a lot of excitement with 20 teams competing and many thrilling matches lined up. He stated that he is proud to have led Australia to victory in the 2021 edition and understands the massive effort required to win in the unforgiving format. Finch looks forward to bringing all his experience as a player to his commentary during the tournament.

Carlos Brathwaite said that the T20 World Cup is a tournament very close to his heart and that he is thrilled this edition is being played in the West Indies and for the first time in the USA. He mentioned that he can’t wait for his stint as a commentator at the event and hopes it will be a truly memorable one.

Dale Steyn mentioned that the Men’s T20 World Cup, with its new format and more teams competing, is a fantastic opportunity to spread the game. He expressed his confidence that both old and new cricket fans would be eager for the action to begin.
